An extensive web outage has impacted dozens sites and applications around the world, as users noting troubles connecting to the web due to difficulties at the cloud computing system.
The affected platforms comprise the social media app Snapchat, Roblox, Signal, and Duolingo, in addition to a host of Amazon-operated operations including its main retail platform and the Ring doorbell device manufacturer.
Throughout Britain, Lloyds bank was impacted along with its subsidiaries the bank Halifax and Bank of Scotland, with additional accounts of difficulties using the the tax authority site on Monday morning. Additionally in Britain, many Ring customers turned to social media to complain their security devices were malfunctioning.
In the UK alone, accounts of disruptions on individual apps ran into the thousands for each platform.
Amazon reported that the outage originated in the Atlantic coast of the America at AWS, a division that offers vital web backbone for many businesses, who utilize space on the company's servers. Amazon Web Services is the biggest global online services service.

Ciscoâs Thousand Eyes, a tool that tracks online failures, also reported a rise in issues on Monday morning, including several cases located in the Virginia area, the region of the eastern US data center where AWS said the issues began.
