Skydance Paramount plans to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, removing about 2,000 positions in the United States within a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.
These job cuts are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed during August worth $8.4bn.
More global layoffs are likely, as the firm planning to announce complete information via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Prior news had indicated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.
Until December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 temporary project employees.
